(F-2) Equity and Food Systems: Opportunities for Health Care through Purchasing, Programs and Investments

Nautilus 2

Health Care Without Harm’s food program staff will present their resilient communities framework and highlight key partnerships that exemplify how hospitals can build a more equitable food system through their purchasing, programs, and investments. Participants will learn about three regional programs: ARC in the Bay area, the Meyer Project in Portland, Oregon, and the Baraka Store in New England. These three projects highlight different roles and different levels of investments hospitals can contribute to equity-building projects. Participants will leave with clear examples of projects and innovative strategies that can be implemented at the hospital, community, or regional level to dismantle inequities.
