Surgical Pathologist, Co-chair of Citizens' Climate Lobby & Munson Healthcare
Elizabeth (Lisa) Del Buono, MD is a surgical pathologist with expertise in GI and breast pathology practicing in Traverse City, Mich. at Munson Medical Center. Lisa trained at the University of Michigan, stayed as an assistant professor until she started practicing in a large community hospital. Lisa has trained to lead climate advocacy workshops and has led many of them over the last few years throughout Northern Michigan and at the state and regional CCL conferences. She is also part of CCL’s “Effective Communications” Action Team in which volunteers study motivational interviewing techniques to improve communications skills. She has given over 60 lectures to the public and medical professionals about both general and health impacts of climate change, as well as participated in over 40 meetings with Congressional offices. She has written multiple op-eds and letters to the editor. Currently, she is working with local physicians and Practice Greenhealth to increase awareness among the administration and fellow physicians in her local healthcare system about the health impacts of climate change.
