Dan Henroid is the sustainability officer and director of the Department of Nutrition and Food Services at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Health. He is responsible for patient dining at two hospitals totaling 720-beds, seven retail food operations with a combined sales of $9 million, a catering service with annual sales of $3 million, plus oversight of inpatient and outpatient nutrition services and gift shops. He has served as the sustainability officer since 2009 and coordinates sustainability activities for the health system with the UCSF campus. UCSF Health has been recognized as a sustainability leader by the University Healthcare Consortium, Becker’s Hospital Review, and for the past seven consecutive years by Practice Greenhealth for sustainable operations including the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award.
