Director of Sustainability and Special Assistant to the CEO for Rochester Regional Health
Dr. Michael Waller is the Director of Sustainability and Special Assistant to the CEO for Rochester Regional Health. Michael leads programmatic efforts for the health system regarding energy efficiency, waste reduction, environmentally preferable purchasing, safer materials, and several other areas all aimed at making Rochester Regional Health one of the most sustainable healthcare systems in the country. With a PhD in Sustainability that focused on renewable energy systems, Michael has led Rochester Regional to commit to source 100% of their electricity from renewable sources by 2025. Michael also teaches sustainability courses at St. John Fisher College, and volunteers his time as a board member for the Market Driven Community Cooperation and Caleb Tutoring Ministries, both aimed at improving the well-being of the City of Rochester’s Youth and local economy.
