Amoe oversees the health system’s environmental efforts to improve the health of employees, patients, and the community. Prior to joining Henry Ford Health System, Amoe worked as legislative counsel for the American Medical Association and as the assistant director of federal affairs for the American Society of Anesthesiologists in D.C., where he worked on numerous health policy issues, including controlled substance abuse, drug shortages, patient safety, meaningful use of health information technology, and behavioral health. He serves on the board of directors for the Detroit Greenways Coalition, the Friends of the DNR’s Outdoor Adventure Center, and Neighborhood Service Organization in Detroit.
