Conference app

This year at CleanMed, we will be utilizing the Swapcard app. Attendees will receive a welcome email with information on how to gain access to Swapcard. Use your mobile phone to download the conference app, or search for “CleanMed 2023” in the App Store or Google Play. Use the app to configure your profile, make connections, create your personal schedule of sessions, seek out which virtual exhibitors you would like to visit, and see who’s speaking.

To log in to the app, enter the email address you used to register for the event, and an email with a “magic sign-in link” will be sent to you. You will then set a password and can begin accessing the app content. If you’ve used Swapcard before, you may have a password associated with your account, or you can request a new “magic sign-in link.”

COVID-19 safety guidelines

The safety of our conference attendees, as well as both CleanMed and hotel staff, is of utmost importance to us. By attending CleanMed, you agree to abide by, engage in, and respect individual choices for certain health and safety practices while attending the conference and other affiliated events.

Practice Greenhealth and Health Care Without Harm support the following hallmarks of evidence-based safety:

  • Vaccination. As professionals in health care, we expect attendees to be vaccinated and appropriately boosted. Please help us provide a healthy, safe, and enjoyable conference experience for all.

  • Hand washing and sanitizing. Use hand sanitizer throughout the conference, and engage in recommended hand washing per CDC guidance. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the conference spaces.

  • Face coverings. Wearing masks is highly recommended but optional, and you are responsible for providing your own mask. We’ll have a limited supply on-site at the CleanMed registration desk in case you need one.

  • Testing before CleanMed. We suggest testing within 24 hours of your travel to CleanMed. If you test positive, the CDC recommends you stay home for five days and isolate from others in your home. Staying home to limit exposure, recuperate, and be comfortable is our recommended best practice.

  • Testing at CleanMed. We’ll have a limited supply of free COVID-19 tests available on-site at the CleanMed registration desk.

  • Enhanced cleaning. Frequent and improved cleaning will take place in the Westin Pittsburgh and conference center. For more information, see the Marriott commitment to clean standards.

Dining

You can expect innovative creations from our CleanMed chef that utilize a variety of plant proteins and are inspired by flavors and cuisines from cultures around the world. As a reminder, the default menu is plant-based, and you indicated any different preference during the registration process. Most meals will be served buffet style, but for the gala, those who selected meat-based meals will need to present their servers with their badge to receive their meal.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion

Diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices guided us in the planning and organization of CleanMed. We strive to continue to craft more inclusive and equitable events, and, through our evaluation process and future planning, this will continue to be a priority.

We are honored to host a diverse group of speakers representing a variety of insights, viewpoints, and lived experiences. Conference sessions were designed to engage different learning styles through smaller discussions, larger plenary gatherings, and interactive workshops. Using an accessibility assessment, we ensured there is universal access, including but not limited to closed captioning, a room for nursing, and accessible colors and contrast on our website and virtual app. Signs and other communications throughout the conference use welcoming and inclusive language. We are also gathering demographic information from participants to continue to improve the inclusivity and accessibility of CleanMed.

We recognize some may not be ready or able to travel, and we understand those concerns. We are offering a virtual registration option for those who won’t be joining us in person, and we will be livestreaming all plenary sessions and some breakout sessions through our virtual event platform.

The conference is being held on the homelands of Native American peoples. We recognize that we are gathering on the ancestral land of the Adena culture, Hopewell culture, and Monongahela peoples, who were later joined by refugees of other tribes, driven here from their homelands by colonizers. We pay respects to all Indigenous peoples – past, present, and future – for their continuing presence throughout the Native American diaspora.

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Exhibits

We will have in-person exhibit tables as well as virtual exhibit booths you can access on the conference app. Please take a moment to connect with our exhibitors before, during, and after the conference.
