Join this half-day pre-conference workshop to learn how to put into practice community-centered health care climate resilience at your organization.
The impacts of climate change are increasingly frequent and intense, affecting communities and patients. There is growing momentum and interest from the health care sector in climate resilience, with more than 900 hospitals publicly committed to developing a resilience plan through the HHS Health Sector Climate Pledge. Drawing from Health Care Without Harm’s framework, guidance, and experience, this session will support health care organizations in building community-centered resilience. Presenters will provide concrete examples and tools for health sector resilience plan development while grounding participants in how to engage and co-create solutions with community members.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand connections between climate resilience, mitigation, health equity, and environmental justice.
- Find out how to create a climate resilience plan and advance resilience within your organization.
- Connect with other health care professionals and environmental justice leaders.
- Discover proven practices and models and build a network of practitioners.
